GIVE
Giving is a way to express our generosity, values, and commitment.
We give to support the work of our church and to assist others through local and global ministries and missions.

You can elect to make this a private transaction between us.
For your convenience, we accept online contributions to the Operating, Mortgage, and current special offering funds via credit card, debit card, or ACH transfers.
The special offering funds are available as choices under the UUMC Giver Portal.
You may split any gift among the different funds. Fund choices under Tithes & Offerings include Operating (general church budget) and Mortgage (paying down building indebtedness) funds.
The UUMC Giver Portal is for members and friends of our UUMC community to set up one-time or recurring gifts or review giving history. Requires login.
Tithes and Offerings
For any gift to University United Methodist Church, you may specify mission purposes for how your gift will be distributed.
Give Weekly and Special Offerings
Offerings are received each week during the worship service.
- An offering can be made by simply placing cash in an offering basket.
- Many people elect to use pre-printed custom envelopes for their offerings. These offering envelopes are numbered for each giver to promote confidentiality and accuracy in recording donations.
- Special offerings are received each year at Christmas and Easter. These are typically used for special ministries beyond the operating budget. Special offerings for missions, disaster relief, and other projects are also received from time to time. Special envelopes may be provided in the bulletin, or envelopes are available in the pews.
- Donations to special projects can be made by noting the project’s name on the envelope and/or on the check memo line, or in Venmo notes.
Memorial Gifts
Express your sympathy and honor a loved one
Make a memorial gift to UUMC. These gifts support church programs and equipment beyond our operating budget. UUMC handles multiple gifts made in memory of an individual, combining them to fund significant projects or needs.
How Memorial Gifts Work
Special envelopes at the church or funeral homes ensure confidentiality and allow next-of-kin to receive a list of donors without disclosing individual gift amounts. Decisions about the use of these funds are made with input from the family, ensuring that gifts reflect both the donors’ and the family’s wishes.
Planning Your Gift
Making a significant gift involves careful planning and potential financial implications. We recommend discussing your intentions with legal or financial advisors and scheduling a confidential conversation with a designated member of our church family.
Make a Planned Gift to Support UUMC’s Future
Your thoughtful contribution through a planned gift can significantly impact the future of the University United Methodist Church (UUMC) and its vital missions. Planned gifts include IRAs, wills, trusts, securities, insurance policies, charitable gift annuities, donor-advised funds, real estate, and more. These gifts ensure that our church can continue to serve our community and others in Christ’s name for generations to come.
The UUMC Endowment Fund
The UUMC Endowment Fund is designed to be a perpetual source of support, preserving the principal while using a typical spend of four percent of the investment earnings annually for church ministries and projects. You can earmark your gift for specific church programs such as youth projects, music, or missions. Most designations are welcomed by the Endowment Fund Committee, and undesignated funds are flexibly used as needs evolve. Here are some examples of past projects funded by the UUMC Endowment Fund:

Time-Limited Accounts
You can also choose to create a Time-Limited account, where your gift’s earnings are used for a designated period (e.g., 20 years), after which the principal is expended.
Ways to Make a Planned Gift
- Wills and Trusts: Specify how your assets are distributed to your loved ones and UUMC.
- Charitable Gift Annuities: Offer a fixed annual income, tax benefits, and support UUMC’s mission.
- Insurance Policies: Donate a policy and make UUMC both owner and beneficiary.
