October 8, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

We look forward to having guest preacher, Rachel Kain, deliver her sermon titled “This Little Light of Mine,” based on Matthew 5:14-16. Join us this Sunday, October 8, for her message, which will be offered during both the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. Here’s a little bit about Rachel…

Rachel Kain lives in Livonia, MI with her husband Michael and two dogs, Charlie and Spencer. She is a mom of two adult children who are both music students at Eastern Michigan University (Go Eagles!). She is a member of Nardin Park UMC and a certified Elder candidate. She is a senior at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary pursuing a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Pastoral Care and Counseling focused on Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care. She is working as a contingent chaplain at Trinity Health Oakland.

Rachel is passionate about music and the arts and social justice, particularly anti-racism and LGBTQ+ rights. She is deeply committed to helping the church become a trauma-informed resource for those who need mental health support and those who are grieving.
