March 25, 2025
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
With everything happening in our world today, how we long for Easter! We eagerly look forward to celebrating Easter Day (Sunday, April 20) and the Easter season—a time of new life and hope, and a reminder that death, despair, and destruction do not have the final word. Here at UUMC, we strive to share hope with others, making God’s love visible.
The UUMC Missions Team has selected the following local and international recipients for the 2025 Special Easter Offering. Donations received will be shared equally between these local and international recipients.
For the “local” recipients, the Missions Team has chosen to continue supporting the following organizations here in Mid-Michigan:
• City Rescue Mission (Bearescuer.org) Caring for the unhoused.
• Hannah House (Hannahshouselansing.org) Caring for expectant mothers.
• Advent House (Adventhouse.com) Helping people out of poverty and homelessness.
• Angel House (Childandfamily.org) Helping children and families.
For the “international” recipient, the Missions Team has chosen famine relief in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) through United Methodist Advanced Giving. A significant portion of the DRC population, particularly in eastern regions, is experiencing severe food insecurity, with 25.6 million people facing crisis or emergency levels. The crisis is fueled by ongoing conflict, displacement, and economic instability, exacerbated by natural disasters and epidemics. The situation requires immediate and sustained humanitarian action—including food, nutrition, and cash assistance—to save lives and protect livelihoods.
Please make your donations payable to UUMC with “Easter Offering” in the memo line. You may also donate through the Venmo app on your phone by using @UUMCDonation.
The Missions Team will keep you apprised of this offering and thanks you in advance for your generosity. In addition to your generous financial support, your prayers for those in need are deeply appreciated.
